The Facts

Experience the holiday season when you see Festival
Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. Festival Ballet unwraps its glittering
holiday treat at Brazoswood High School beginning Dec. 6 and 7, with evening and
matinee performances.
The Nutcracker is a fairy-tale story that never fails to enchant — from the
Christmas tree that grows, spinning snowflakes and waltzing flowers, to the toy
soldiers battling the Mouse King, and of course, the Nutcracker Prince, the
Sugarplum Fairy and her dashing Cavalier. The Nutcracker fills the season with
excitement, as it transforms the theater into a winter wonderland.
“It’s a wonderful story that never grows old,” Artistic Director Deborah Rayburn
said, “a beloved holiday tradition that touches the hearts of young and old
alike.”
This Nutcracker production is very special, as it will include some of the most
promising young dancers from the Greater Houston and Brazoria County area, with
many dancers from the Academy of Ballet and Dance Arts in Lake Jackson.
As always, Festival Ballet performances feature the best in professional guest
artists.
Festival Ballet is a performing semi-professional ballet company with locations
in Houston, The Woodlands and Lake Jackson. As an independent non profit 501(c)3
arts organization its mission is to enlighten and entertain audiences with
classical and contemporary presentations, provide performance experience for
advanced level ballet students and encourage and promote the art of dance in our
community.
