into summer!” - Festival Ballet summer workshop

Festival Ballet
will hold its annual Summer Intensive Workshop for dancer’s ages 10 to 25 years
of age June 25th, 26th, and 27th at the Woodlands Dance Academy, 27220 Glen Loch
in The Woodlands.
The workshop will offer each student an opportunity for intensive training in
Classical Ballet, Pointe, Classical Repertoire, Variations, Pas de Deux, Modern,
Musical Theater, and Jazz, providing a special curriculum focusing on developing
the talents of each dancer. This intensive program is based on the Vaganova
training method of classical ballet and is intended for students who want to
advance their skills in this accelerated, but fun and informative learning
environment.
The Guest faculty for this workshop will include international ballet stars Ilya
Kozadayev and Alexander Pandiscio, both dancers are currently members of Houston
Ballet.
In addition, local and
international teachers and performers will also instruct dancers in areas of
dance history, nutrition for dancers, careers in dance and acting for dancers.
“We like to provide our dance families with a little extra, or more than what
they would expect, so our summer study staff has many planned many parent take
home items and special extras this year, our focus is to teach and inspire”
states Festival Ballet Artistic Director Deborah Rayburn.
“Inspiring greatness, from one dance generation to the next” says Artistic
Director Deborah Rayburn, that is how the art form of classical ballet and all
dance continues. We are honored that Ilya and Alexander share that common vision
for the dancers.
A limited number of scholarships are available for dancers in this workshop.
A portion of the proceeds from this workshop will benefit the South Montgomery
County Library.
