holiday season when you see Festival Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker.
Festival Ballet un-wraps its glittering holiday treat at The Bock Center for
Performing Arts - McCullough auditorium, 3800 S. Panther Creek beginning
December 13th with both evening and matinee performances.
You will enjoy the time-honored story by E.T.A. Hoffman of one very special
night! You will thrill as every toy under the Christmas tree comes alive with
all the splendor and merriment of the season! You will see magnificent costumes
– spectacular sets – a tree that grows tall and falling snow that blankets a
Nutcracker wonderland!
The Nutcracker is a fairy-tale story that never fails to enchant - from the
Christmas tree that grows, spinning snowflakes and waltzing flowers, to the toy
soldiers battling the Mouse King, and of course, the Nutcracker Prince, the
Sugarplum Fairy and her dashing Cavalier. The Nutcracker fills the season with
excitement, as it transforms The Center for the Arts and Sciences into a winter
wonderland.

Area Dancers Make The Nutcracker Special
This Nutcracker is very special, as it will include talented young dancers from
The Woodlands, South Montgomery County, Northern Harris County, and Brazoria
County who have roles in Festival Ballet’s production. Open auditions were held
at the Academy of Ballet & Dance Arts. The opportunity to perform in a
production of this scale is thrilling for the young dancers and an experience
they will treasure.
Professional Guest Artists
As always Festival Ballet performances feature the best in professional Guest
Artists and local area dancers. The Guest Artist's for this production includes
Norbert Nirewicz (Polish National Ballet), and Rolando Yanes (Milwaukee Ballet).
Milwaukee Ballet Auditions Guest Artist Rolando Yanes, Director of the Milwaukee
Ballet School will hold auditions for the Milwaukee Ballet summer workshop
December 14, at Noon at the Festival Ballet studios, 27326 Robinson Road. All
area dancers are invited to attend.
Sugar Plum Day at the Ballet -
Saturday December 20, 2:00 p.m. The Saturday December 20th performance is a
special “Sugar Plum Day at the Ballet”. Have your “Little Sugar Plum” come
dressed in their favorite costume and receive a complimentary gift.
